Asbestos Claims Update
(Updated March 7, 2005)
To Our Clients:
Update on Halliburton claims: Many of the Halliburton claims we submitted for our clients have not been approved at this time. There are a number of claims that are being contested by Halliburton’s attorneys and we are working with them to get those claims approved. Therefore, if you did not recently receive a Halliburton settlement statement, this may just mean that your claim has not yet been approved. However, we also have a number of clients who will not receive the Halliburton settlement due to their failure to return the required claim forms.
In regard to other claims, we are continuing to pursue your claims against the numerous companies that are in bankruptcy. This will be a very long process. Once a claim is submitted to the respective bankruptcy court, we have no control over how soon that claim will be processed. Therefore, we are unable to give you any information regarding when or if your claim will be paid. As soon as we receive any information concerning your claim, you will be notified by letter.
As additional claims information for the companies in bankruptcy becomes available, a claims packet will be sent to you for review and completion. Please do not delay in returning the completed forms.
It is very important that you keep us advised of any changes in your health, such as any diagnosis of lung, colon, esophageal or larynx cancer. It is also very important that you notify us immediately of any address or telephone number changes so that there will be no delay in receiving updates and/or claims packages.
If you have questions, please refer them in writing to our office or email to sjohnson@shannonlawfirm.com
